the intro sounded pretty good, and it had me really pumped up (the amen kinda killed it though). but the main section was just a mess imo. the low end is really muddy with all the conflicting bass sounds, and it just formed a messy dissonant poopfest. the drums are kinda weak as well. the kick sounds like it belongs in a techno song. the amen doesn't really fit the beat the way you use it.
the reese is nothing special. its just a distorted sound with what sounds like a vocoder equalizer or something. the bassline is pretty uninspired also, and doesn't really fit the song imo.
basically, your arrangement and melodies and stuff are pretty good, but your choice of sounds is kinda not.
Author's Response:
This was made back when I didn't really take music as seriously... I thought it was great at the time. It could use some cleaning up, yes, and I've been wanting to change the drums for a while. I won't end up doing anything with this song though, so there's no reason to fix it :D Also, I'm pretty lazy. I don't like to revisit old songs much.
I appreciate your review though, everything is pretty much good criticism.

this beat is funny
i can agree that it is kinda repetitive, thouhg, with the offbeat shuffle percussion thing going like chikka chikka and stuff
it needs a solid high hat on the 8th notes
stay black

"how the heck did you get that snare drum"
i made it
hahahah
nice tune btw
Author's Response:
It was the down-beat snare from the 184bpm sample that I sliced up into the main & half-time drum pattern.
Some of the snare hits are layered with HL2 gunshot samples-
Most the discordant sounds bytes are-

the glitchy drumwork in this is pretty dope. you should have gone farther with it though, and made some more progression with it.
i don't really like anything else about the song. the pads and synths are boring and the texture is very plain. that guitar just doesn't fit in to the song well at all.
i'd keep up the good drumwork but work on your progressions, bass, and whatever else.
you get a 2/5.

its a nice tune. sounds like its 160 bpm or something, pretty slow for dnb.
im not a huge fan of the multiple synth melodies, but the drums are pretty solid (except for those 909 samples lol)
i'd say work on expanding the bass some more to get some badass tones its just like a silly WOOOP sound, which works, but it gets old.
and lol what's wrong with fruity loops? a bunch of pros use it. you shouldn't feel obliged to move on to something bigger or more expensive until you feel like you are so godly at fruity loops your awesomeness just can't be contained by the silly little imageline contraption. lol.
Author's Response:
Yea its 160 i think... thats the minimum for dnb. Anything slower would be considered breakbeat. As for the bass... there actually isnt one XD. Just some eqed acid, and a sub. I tryed putting a reese in there, but it just became a big mess, and I wanted this one to be a little more dancey.
The problem with fruity loops, is ive fallen into some habits where I dont put as much effort in as I should. I also dont like experimenting, so im not improving. I need a different layout to work with, so I get better.
Thx for the review man, pleasure to hear from you.
